In August 2003 Danny Hagan and myself held the first Green Man Festival in Craig Y Nos Castle in the rugged edge of the Brecon Beacons, where we lived. It was a wonderful day and night of music, film and literature in the Welsh mountains.
The festival grew year on year and some of the many artists we booked include, Robert Plant, The National, Bon Iver, The Flaming Lips, Wilco, Animal Collective, Mumford and Sons, Laura Marling, James Blake, Four Tet, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Fleet Foxes, Super Furry Animals, Billy Bragg, Jarvis Cocker and so many more. We grew it from 1 day and under 500 people in 2003 to 4 days and nights and 15,000 attendees in 2011. Danny and I moved on from the Green Man in November 2011.
