Newly released footage of Go! Service and Bluetrain 1984 and 1987.

I’ve had a bit of fun going through old VHS video footage recently.

My band Go! Service supported the Television Personalities on their European tour in 1984.

On the fourth night of the tour, we played Maxim in Stuttgart. Amazingly, recently, I was sent footage from that night. I was 18 and Rudy on guitar, had turned 17 the day before. Mike and Danny were 21.

It Makes Me Realise‘ would end up being our debut single, recorded after the tour and released in 1985 on Dan Treacy’s Dreamworld Records.

In 1986 Mike left the band and Kevin Moorey took over on drums – we changed our name to Bluetrain and released another 12″ on Dan’s label ‘Land of Gold‘. Just after the single was released it was Rudy’s turn to leave. He was replaced by an American living in London, Mark Nemetz.

Here we are playing the Green Man pub on the Edgeware Road in London, filmed by French TV.

Here’s ‘Land of Gold’ in 1987 – Danny Hagan on bass is hidden by the PA speakers!
