Congratulations to Gareth Bonello – AKA The Gentle Good for winning the Welsh Music Prize 2017 for his album ‘Ruins/Adfeilion‘.
This is the award organised by BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens and John Rostron.
Gareth is a very talented and very lovely man. He played the Green Man Festival in Wales on many occasions when Danny and myself were running it and he made the rather long trip from Cardiff to Camberley a couple of times for me last year to perform as part of the Camberley International Festival. The first time he came to Camberley was for a #CIFLive Facebook Live we had organised, he played and sang beautifully (as always) and also let me ask him some questions sent in by viewers watching the live stream. I’m very grateful to him for making that journey not once but twice!
Anyway, congratulations Gareth, well deserved indeed.
