The Yellow Moon Band

Our only album ‘Travels Into Several Remote Nations of the World’ had been released on the wonderful Static Caravan label early in 2009 to a host of 4 star reviews.
Our single ‘Entangled’ was included on the classic psychedelic compilation album ’A Monstrous Psychelic Bubble….’ put together by the Amorphous Androgynous, and also featuring Miles Davis, The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Can, David Axelrod, Tim Buckley and Donovan.
We had played Green Man that August as part of the ‘A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble…’ curated night in the packed 2,500 capacity Far Out tent. It was an amazing gig, everyone so into it.
‘Entangled’ was used by Liam Gallagher to launch his Pretty Green clothing company.
‘Chimney’ from the album was used alongside The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Nirvana and The White Stripes on the Ubisoft video music game ’Rocksmith’. With YouTube views at over 125,000 – this is our biggest hit.
There were tensions in the band though and tensions going on behind the scenes at Green Man.
We released our last single ‘Barehed’ (not on the album) Ewan Jones Morris made this wonderful video.
I don’t think we knew this would be our last gig but it was.
Yesterday photographer Justin Thomas sent me these great photos from that night –
Good Bye Yellow Moon Band! X
