I originally released the brilliant ‘Physics of Angels’ by Edinburgh / Fife band Sons of the Descent on my blog label about a year ago. (Read my interview with the band here)
I’m re releasing everything on the label as I have changed digital distribution. This gives me a great excuse to catch up with the SOTD boys and see what they have been up to for the past year. They also threw in the fabulous ‘Knowing Gaze (Isolation Live)’ to go with the release this time, so happy days!
Stephen filled me in;
‘Been playing a few dates in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as some supporting slots with ACR and the Blockheads which were great fun.
All good practice at honing the sounds which are heading in a more ‘direct’ rhythmic route, whilst still trying to keep the trippy feel…
The new material from our Live work will see the light of day on our second album, our first full length release as a three piece.
Lockdown has kind of put a halt on things in that regard, but our isolation sessions yielded something juicy for ITTLG…’

The video for ‘Physics of Angels’ was made by Grant McPhee director of ‘ Big Gold Dream’, a film focusing on Scotland’s post-punk culture which won the Edinburgh International Film Festival Audience Award.
