Me and Kodiak Island

I’m very pleased to let you know that my band, Kodiak Island, has an e.p. released on the exciting new label, i40 on 11 February.

Three out of five Kodiaks.

We recorded the four tracks in lock down, virtually, last year.

Delighted with the results, I sent them to a few people, all of whom were very enthusiastic. The guys over at the Everything Indie Over 40 website have always been supportive of me so I asked them if they knew of any labels I could try. Steve said, ‘….actually us!’. Steve and John had been talking about adding a record label to their wonderful world, where, along with the website and community they have recently started a book publishing wing.

We got talking and things progressed. The vinyl got delayed. There were massive back logs at the pressing plants. We waited.

At last the release date is close.

The photo on the sleeve is of my family (and one family friend) and was taken by my Dad.

Mum continues to try and read her newspaper while everyone around her is lost in their own story. Action Man, conker, dogs, a bike on top of her. That’s me at the end by the way.

‘Anything, Everything’ from the ‘Play To Your Strengths’ e.p.

You can pre order the e.p. from the label’s Bandcamp page.

We have a couple of gigs / launch parties coming up:

Sunday 6 FebruaryThe Cabin, London Road, Camberley. Two sets, 4pm and 5pm. We are actually getting two seperate sets ready which is a task and we are rising to it magnificently. Rehearsals are sounding fantastic. Two sets with nine songs in each. Free entry. There will be an opportunity to purchase the 10″ and cds, ahead of the release date.

Sunday 6 March The Social, London. Hosted by i40 Records with loads going on, including a Q&A with me. Really looking forward to both these gigs!

Tickets available from See Tickets.

More news soon.
